The Oil Spill at Lebanon

This is a short video of the oil spill caused by the Israeli Army in Lebanon in Summer 2006. The footage was shot a few days after the war ended (or rested so far) in Beirut and Jbail (Byblos).

In the early days of the war, the Israeli Air Force bombed a power plant in Jiyyeh, a coastal village about 30 km south of Beirut. Around 15'000 tons of oil spilled into the sea, polluting the whole Lebanese coast up to the north and even part of the Syrian coast. This catastrophe caused by the Israeli state is damaging the Lebanese environment and economy for a long term.
