Baby loggerhead sea turtle hatch during red tide

High quality rare video of baby loggerhead sea turtles hatching out of a nest and running across a Sarasota Florida beach and into the gulf of mexico during the night of September 26, 2006. Video shot with permission using invisible infrared red light to prevent any effect on the turtles. All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to this or other turtles. This hatch occurred during a significant Red Tide outbreak (karenia brevis algae bloom) and the baby turtles had to climb over some dead fish killed by the red tide inorder to reach the water.
